1) Some people say that music is a good way of bringing people of different cultures and ages together. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

Presently, it is often argued that people in different cultures and ages can understand each other by music. I completely agree that music is a good way of making understanding together.

First of all, music is one of the mediums to share both perspectives and attitudes in each people generation. Due to a gap in age between generations, some attitudes such as music, arts, lifestyles and even politics are far different according to their own experiences, resulting in different social values.  Therefore, most songs reflect not only people perspectives but also everything in that day. For example, Rap is a type of music which nowadays, is popular with new generation people. Moreover, most lyrics from Rap songs contain stories based on their opinions in politics that they want to call for changes.  If people open their minds and listen to music from every era, then they will more understand both younger and older people about their opinions and needs.

Secondly, music is access easily and becomes global widespread due to advancements in modern technologies such as the internet and websites. Therefore, people around the world can listen to songs which are from foreign counties in order to cultures diffusion. Furthermore, most people believe that languages are not the barrier to listening to music. This also attracts people to not only improve their foreign languages but also learn more cultures and general knowledge about those countries. Korean song is a good example of this because it is widespread around the world and there are many big fans as well. Therefore, nowadays, Korean cultures such as clothes and food are more popular in many countries than in the past.

In conclusion, I strongly believe that music is the best way to connect people together, because  it can share both people attitudes and culture easily.

2) It is not necessary for people to travel to other places to learn about the culture. We can learn as much as from books, films and the internet. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Today, a few people hold the opinion that travelling may take people too many effects on learning the culture, and it could be completely replaced by reading books, watching films or surfing online. However, in my perspective, travelling could bring more experiences that benefits individual to know the world.

It cannot be denied that travel can facilitate a stranger to approach the local culture with a more realistic sight. During the trip, we could not only broaden our points of view towards specific content, but also enlighten our thoughts by communicating with local people. After experiencing different cultural styles, we could easily make comments on that, which could be memorized deeply in our minds. In addition, learning by travelling could bring us more friends who have common interests with us. Meanwhile, it’s a good opportunity to escape from busy work and focus on things you are interested.

On the contrary, studying  at home has so many limitations. Although there are books and films which describe historical attractions and fabulous scenery. Most of them would be too subjective to express opinions from the authors themselves. Thus, you may doubt that if it is the real situation? Nevertheless, in order to avoid being manipulated by others’ words and feedback, it’s better to find out the truth on our own. Besides, using some tools like the internet and social media websites is indeed an effective way to visualize the knowledge, but none of them could leave great impressions on you compared with travelling independently.

In conclusion, even though many tools could be helpful to know the culture, it’s not enough to know the detailed information. In addition , you will be satisfied with tackling the problem on your own through travelling.

3) Some people think the use of social media is replacing face-to-face interaction among many people in society. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

In the modern world, the usage of gadgets such as smartphones and computers has increased tremendously. People of every age group are getting more and more involved in interacting online rather than meeting in person. Some people think social media is used more in comparison with face-to-face conversation. Notwithstanding, the disclosures delves into these vantage points, and subsequently will explain why I agree with the notion.

Firstly, with the advent of these new ,technologies everyone spends their time either on the phone or on the internet. They hardly go out and meet new people which is restricting their connection with others. For example, everyone nowadays likes to play video games, and they give their time either playing on smartphones or PlayStations. This is not only restricting their face-to-face meetings but also affecting their health by having no physical exercise.

On the other hand, I think the new technology has given so many ways to communicate with people of different races and religions  and get to know them better. One can sit at their laptops and can talk to someone on the other part of the earth. For instance, the Zoom video conferencing app allows having conversations with people all around the world with the help of just simple clicks.

In conclusion, I think social media has affected the way we talk or live in. Although, it has many advantages it has some disadvantages as well which outweighs the advantages.

4) Whoever controls the media also controls opinions and attitudes of the people and there is little that can be done to rectify this? To what extent do you agree or disagree?

In the state of the art society, the power of social networking has affected strongly the personal perspectives and attitudes of people. This is absolutely a serious issue due to the popularity of indecent actions, however, I believe we can address this problem in some essential ways.

By far the successful achievements in the technological aspects have changed the way we access  various opinions through social media. For example, enormous technological cooperations, such as Facebook and Twitter possessed a large number of people all over the world, therefore, unauthorized news can be easily acquired and spread quickly in society and will result in untrustworthy attitudes and social crimes. Moreover, any individuals or groups who control the media own a privilege to have personal information of users which they can take advantage of to optimize their minds and stimulate them to fulfil their targets.

Facing the negative sites of media, a solution that should be considered is to raise the awareness of media users. A salient activity we can do is to represent the harmful consequences when they easily have a strong belief in unauthorized information which leads to misunderstanding between people. Another solution is to impose more strict rules on people who control the media for being out of bounds, making them not use users for personal purposes.

In conclusion, I once again reaffirm my point of view is that controlling the media has a powerful ability to lead the opinions and attitudes of society and many negative results will occur. However, solving this problem is definitely possible in the foreseeable future.

5) Some people think that it is more beneficial to take part in sports which are played in teams, like football, while other people think that taking part in individual sports, like tennis or swimming, is better. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

Sports either play an inevitable role in developing both mental and physical health or maintain a youthful appearance. Many individuals are willing to take part in kinds of sports, which are organized in a team. However, others support to the idea that it is more profitable to compete as a solo athlete. Personally, I subscribe to the view that team games have higher benefits to practice daily.

On the one hand, people who join team sports have an opportunity to learn various useful skills such as teamwork and cooperation skills, which are necessary for their future career. Sports such as football or basketball teach the players how to work together effectively in a team environment. In particular, each person in the group can also learn how to sacrifice themselves for the sake of their team and reach the common goal by connecting with others.

On the other hand, we can not deny the prosperity of solo sports bringing to our life. Going to individual sports such as tennis, swimming is a great solution to increase independent thinking and self-confidence. Furthermore, it also forces people to rise their fast thinking and have a responsibility for their decisions. The researches have shown that children who are members of a squad regularly relying on their teammates and their success leans on their team’s effort and cooperation. By contrast, people who work alone in games have to try their best to achieve the goal by their self-effort, concentration and hard-working.

In conclusion, my honest opinion states that a sportsman who is a piece of a band is likely to gain more value than the solo one, where they just can only blame themselves for the defeat or enjoy the winning alone.

6) Today, the high sales of popular consumer goods reflect the power of advertising and not the real needs of the society in which they are sold. To what extent do you agree or disagree.

Presently, some claim that the consumption of unnecessary products is increased significantly because of advertising. This essay completely agrees with this because of two main reasons.

 First of all, the advertisement not only provides information about the products but also uses advertising strategies to boost sales. In other words, the ads are full of marketing tools that have the ability to encourage consumers to purchase their goods without considering the quality of products. Celebrities endorsement, for example, is one of the effective strategies which several businesses pick for making ads. Once consumers see their admired presenters in the ads, they are more likely to purchase these products, and the increasing purchases come mainly from the fact that the consumers are convinced that using the advertised products can support celebrities. Apparently,  the consumers have the hidden agenda to purchase products not necessary.

Second, the advertisement heightens consumer’s awareness about the latest released products. Basically, people tend to get bored of old products even they are still useable and easily get excited when they see new products on markets. For this reason, the companies may use this advantage to increase their sales by making ads.  One of the examples here is that Apple company sales of the iPhone are great among the others. Apple launches the advertising before putting the product on the market to catch consumers’ attention and raise a desire to buy. Therefore, the information about the products which will be sold comes to the consumer’s mind unconsciously.

In conclusion, personally, I totally believe that advertising is extremely effective to increases the sales of popular and unneeded goods because of advertising strategies and heightening consumer’s awareness.

7) Scientist ssy that in the future humanity will speak the same language. Do you think this is a positive or negative social development.

Due to an increase of using several languages, it is believed by some that the world will speak one language eventually. In my aspect, if this happens in the future, it would bring problems to our society, one is the disappearance of culture and tradition and another is an increase of jobless rate.

To commence with the first drawback that would be considered, using a single language can inevitably lead to the loss of culture and tradition. This is because every country has its own unique culture and tradition that uses its language to express, namely poem, song, and play, and these fantastic arts will disappear once another language gains more popularity than the native language. As an illustration, nowadays, Thai boys and girls are more likely to pay more attention to western media as English becomes more popular. Most of these young adults go to the cinema to watch western movies instead of going to the local theatre to watch local plays, resulting in many traditional Thai theatres is being shut down due to a lack of audience. Apparently, native cultures continue fading since the young generation do not preserve these cultures

To continue with the second detriment, more people will be unemployed because the jobs that language-related become less critical.  More and more people will lose their careers since there is no language barrier. For example, a foreign language teacher loses their students because it is unnecessary to hire a teacher to teach them a foreign language since they can communicate with others without misunderstanding and understand the meaning of every single word. As a result, this may lead to individual financial problem

In conclusion, using a single language cause cultural and traditional damage to our world and many people may face difficulties by losing their jobs.

8) Nowadays it is common for people to get married and have children in their thirties rather than when they are younger. Do you agree or disagree that this trend will benefit society.

There are many concerned individuals who feel that getting married in your thirties is not an ideal situation.  While others feel that it is perfectly fine to be married after thirty.  I completely agree with the latter statement, and in this essay, I will explain both sides of the topic.

Firstly, When we get older, we not only just get older by age but we gain more experience and knowledge about our personal and professional lives. for example, During our teenage, we tend to trust people more easily, even though we have been taught not to believe strangers and as a consequence, we often get hurt by these situations and in the end, we learn a valuable lesson. There  is a famous quote that when we go through major challenges in our life we grow through them and in reality, they actually teach us to see life from a different perspective.

Secondly, being a married man, it becomes difficult to manage your responsibilities and maintain the balance required to have a peaceful life. Furthermore, In my view, When we concentrate on our future at an early age, then this will assist us to plan our after the thirties or even our married life in a much better and efficient way as it aids us to become more financially secured and safe. On the other hand, If we get married before the thirties then it might become difficult to take good care of our family. Also, your age can help you to make a better decision based on your old incidence. For instance, If you are married at the age of 25 and you are not stable in your life then it becomes hard to concentrate on both the important aspects of your life. In recent studies, it has been proven that  more than 60% of people prefer to get married after their thirties.

To conclude, despite there are several reasons why an individual should get married before his thirties, I’m inclined to consider the pros of after thirty marriage outnumber the cons.

9) Some people believe famous people’s support towards international aid organizations draws attention to problems. Others think celebrities make the problems less important. Discuss both view and give your opinion.

There is no doubt that the world relief organization helps in resolving worldwide problems.While some people believe that popular people’s aiding can use to highlight the issues, others disagree with this statement as they consider those famous personalities can make problems less valuable.In this essay,I will share both sides and give my point of view with an example.

Some think that if public figures share an international matter then those questions gain little notices.

There are few experiences where main problems have been ignored and individuals focused on different directions which resulted in losing importance to the prime objectives.For instance, there is one Hollywood actor who supported help for underprivileged children via medical organizations but instead of helping to solve the actual issues, media and persons paid more consideration to unimportant things. There are other incidents where rather than helping such a topic, people focus had been shifted towards celebrities on social media such as Twitter,FaceBook etc.To sum up, sometimes these very recognized stars actions can withdraw supports needed for the welfare programs.

One thing is sure that celebrities can draw attention to any ongoing affairs.To illustrate my point, recently when very recognized sportsperson stated in the aftermatch sports presentation that he prefers drinking healthy foods/drinks rather than consuming cold beverages like CoCo-Cola,Pepsi etc. As a consequence, the stalks of industries that produce these soft drinks went down from higher to the lowest.This can prove that a well-known celebrity one comment can change the viewpoint of his or her followers which in turn leads to paying more focus on essential occurrences happening all over the world that needs mankind’s attention.If such people promote worldwide subject, humans can more think about it , express their thoughts and donates some money to such organizations.

In conclusion, I totally believe that Famous sportsperson or actor/actress etc. can help international helping communities which help in assisting who are in a great need.

10) People are never satisfied and always want more. In what ways is this a good thing and in what ways is this a bad thing?

It is often argued that humans are insatiable and always demanding. I will be discussing the positive and negative aspects.

On the one hand, the reason why I think that insatiety is a good thing is that, dissatisfaction makes an individual strive to be better. Some individuals feel they are not content with what they have and this increases their hunger for improvement. Furthermore, people want the best life for their families and loved ones and in order to do so, they work hard and study more to help them secure better jobs. As a result, the needs of the family are met and this in return, gives the individual a sense of fulfilment. For example, I was not satisfied with the income I was receiving at my h previous workplace, because it was not enough to cater for my needs. Therefore, I opted out and sought to further my education and this has helped my career. Thus, I have d more degrees and experience and I can now meet my needs.

On the other hand, dissatisfaction has negative effects. The reason is that insatiability increases a person’s greed for more, thereby, making one engage in crime to satisfy their needs. Besides, a person who is not satisfied with what he has can involve in criminal activities, such as, stealing, killing or coveting. For instance, in Bayelsa state, a man was jailed for killing his brother over a piece of land. Moreover, the piece of land was said to be the brother’s but his greed for more and discontent made him kill his brother. As a result, he is serving time in jail.

In conclusion, although humans are not content and are always demanding, I believe that dissatisfaction triggers an individual’s drive for success as well as, lead to negative life choices and impact.
